The Thursday Boland guest list. The word legend should not used lightly when describing someone achievements but in my first guest the name legend sits comfortably. She is June Whitfield. Although in her 80’s she still gets up at dawn to prepare for yet another day in front of the cameras. From such iconic shows as The Tony Hancock Show to Terry and June, Beggar my Neighbour and Carry on Films (loved her in her nurses uniform in Carry on Doctor) but most of all she’s Absolutely Fabulous!!!! Next up Stephen O’Riordan who will be relating a harrowing story about one of the most brutal interludes in Ireland Christian history, the Magdalene Laundries. It has been estimated that 30,000 women were admitted during the 150-year history of these institutions, often against their will, sometimes by state order. In May, 2009, the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse released a 2000 page report recording claims from hundreds of Irish residents that they were physically, sexually or emotionally abused as children whilst under the care of the nuns running the Laundries. Not finished yet! Businesswoman of the year 2008, Hilary Devey, the founder of ‘Pall-Ex’ UK and European palletised freight distribution network. Hilary yet another star of Secret Millionaire was here in Spain a couple of weeks ago to expand her business when she nearly died after suffering a stroke. OK, so Boland wasn’t invited to the party of the year, Simon Cowell’s 50th , but, his first guest was impresario Jonathan Shalit who heads up ShalitGlobal International. He’s the personal manager to a stable of A list stars including, Myleene Klass, Jamella, Christopher Biggens, Kelly Brook will relate the full insight into that party including fish tanks in the toilets with live sharks!!!! The Guest list included Sir Elton John, The Osborn’s, Kate Moss, Gordon Ramsay, X Factor judges Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole. Next up is Martin Sixsmith will tell us the story of unmarried mother Philomena Lee who was forced to give up her son to Irish Nuns, the nuns in turn sold him to a rich Americans. For decades she tried to find him, an amazing story will unfold. The next guest will talk us through his battle with alcohol and homeliness. He is BBC and ITN broadcaster Ed Mitchell. A new documentary about Ed will be screened next week and will bring us on a journey following the latest steps to recover the former broadcaster and his eventual return to television. Finally James Max is the most successful Apprentice star to date talks about his journey from city slicker to Apprentice wannabe to popular radio DJ. Boland on Wednesday at 10.

The Tuesday Boland Guest List: This morning show of extremes, from comedy to paedophiles from Indian food to veteran radio presenters!!! So first up is comedian, actor king of farce who has been described as a national treasure he is Roy Hudd. He broke into TV appearing on Not So Much A Programme, More A Way of Life, but found wider fame with 1969’s The Roy Hudd Show. Since 1975 The News Huddlines has had an amazing run on Radio 2, and is something of an institution. Roy was recently seen as Archie Shuttleworth in Coronation Street. Do women commit sexual abuse on children? Boland will be putting this question to his guest Claude Knight, director of Kidscape who will explain why female paedophiles are rarely discussed. David Diddy Hamilton, Mike Reed, Paul Burnett and Ed ‘Stewpot’ Stewart are among a group of veteran radio presenters who have a combined age of 400 years who are setting up a new radio station, they claim could rival the BBC. The oldest member Pete Murray who is 84!!! Joins the guest list to talk about the project. Finally Boland get cooking, Indian style!! Reza Mahammad, who is resident chef on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he has been described by the Observers food critic as “Like being ambushed by a cross between Laurence LLewelyn-Bowan and Freddie Mercury!!!! Sitting into the mid morning show has been alot of fun, very hard work and amazing. I was delighted that Peter Andre chose Talk Radio Europe's "The Boland Show" for his first exclusive radio interview in Spain. Among other things Peter spoke about his family, love of cooking, music and moving on.
Boland is sitting in this month for Howard Brereton who is taking his well deserved August break. The mid morning show is being presented in the typical Maurice Boland 'style' jammed packed with guests including Esther Rantzen, Anthea Turner, Michael Winner, Gloria Hunniford, Christopher Biggins , Selina Scott and Jasper Carrot.
The show has also had some very significant interviews including an in-depth interview with Kai Chase, Michael Jackson's personal chef, who was present on the day he died. Other exclusive interviews included Giovanni Di Stefano Ronnie Biggs Lawyer who spoke on the day Biggs was released. Incidentally Di Stefeno is also famous for defending Saddam Hussein. Its been an extraordinary first week on TRE’s mid morning show as Boland sits in for Howard who’s taking his annual August holidays. Among the guests on the first week mid morning show where Esther Ranzen, Michael Winner Selina Scott, Lionel Blair, Anthea Turner etc TRE secured a European exclusive interview with Kai Chase Michael Jacksons personal chef who was present on the day Michael Jackson died. She told Maurice that the first hint of something amiss was when his doctor didn’t come downstairs to get the juices and granola he routinely brought the King of Pop for breakfast each morning.
In the morning, when she arrived for work, Kai said she would see the doctor coming down the steps carrying oxygen tanks. When Dr Murray didn’t come downstairs the morning of June 25, "I thought maybe Mr. Jackson is sleeping late," she said. About 12:10 Dr. Murray runs down the steps and screams, ‘Go get Prince!’ He’s screaming very loud. I run into the den where the kids are playing. Prince (Jackson’s oldest son) runs to meet Dr. Murray and from that point on you could feel the energy in the house change.
"I walked into the hall and I saw the children there. The daughter was crying. I saw paramedics running up the stairs." Kai told Maurice. At that point, she said, the small group that was gathered — the children, their nanny, a housekeeper and Chase — held hands and began to pray. As paramedics raced up to the room, Chase recalls, "We were all praying, ‘Help Mr. Jackson be O.K.’

Friday the 23rd July I was at the U2 concert at Dublin’s Croke park. I have attended quite a few concerts over the years but nothing and I mean nothing compares to this. Over 80,000 attended, many travelling from all over the world to see U2 return to the city where they were born. Bono claimed that the previous concerts in Barcelona, Amsterdam and Munich where just warm ups for there home coming. The Irish newspapers the day after screamed: Triumph!!!
The stage known as the Claw (see photo): At 164 feet tall, the Claw, is twice as high as the previous largest stadium stage set, from the Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang tour. “Theirs would fit underneath this one,” Says Williams, U2 stage designer.
Sound System: Each of the Claw’s four sides have its own full-size sound system — each powerful enough for an entire arena. There is also be 72 separate subwoofers.
Logistics: Currently being assembled in pieces around the world, the set is made of solid steel — 120 trucks will cart it from show to show. If you haven’t seen the 360 Tour yet… GO!!!

This amazing painting was painted by my friend Vincent McKoy. Vincent who now lives on the Costa Blanca was commissioned to paint this by Michael himself and hung in Neverland Ranch. Controversy surrounded the painting when it and other important items including the front gates of Neverland were removed to Julian’s Auction House in Beverley Hills to be sold but this was vetoed by Jackson himself. Its not presently known where the painting is at this time. Vincent, like many artist, is struggling to make a decent living and I hope this interest in his work will boost his career. He really is a brilliant artist and I wish him luck for the future
