The Boland Show Thursday 18th Feb: This has been a week of Cult and Religious bashing on the Boland show. First up were the Scientologists followed by the Jehovah Witnesses then the Jews next up are the Catholic Priests (again) to be precise…. The Pope!!! Today Irish Independent Newspaper headline screamed: ‘ The Pope Has Washed His Hands of Abused Victims’!!!! Furious victims of clerical sexual abuse accused the pope of ‘washing there hands’ of the scandals that rocket the church. Victims condemned the Pope for NOT acknowledging that senior clergy covered up abuse for decades and has refused to call for resignations. They have said the pontiff's unprecedented two day summit with the 24 Irish bishops in the Vatican was a charade which had achieved nothing. Boland’s first guest, Steven O'Riorden, is a victim of child abuse by the church and will his disgust at the pontiff…

French lawmakers have said they want to ban Muslim women from veiling their faces in public facilities, a plan applauded by some French Muslim women but criticized by Muslim leaders, who said it could provoke Islamic extremists in France and abroad. France's prime minister has also said he would sign a decree refusing French nationality to a man who forced his wife to wear the Burkha. Bolands next guest Laila Lalami, the author of a new book ' Secret Son' is Moroccan born and is known internationally for her blog www.moorishgirl.com and her book gives an insider's view of the underlying turmoil of Morocco and a depiction of the roots of Islamic terrorism.
That’s The Catholics, the Muslims so what about the Jews??? We should have known better next up is Dr Efraim Zuroff, director of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in Israel has dedicated his life to tracking down and prosecuting those responsible for the atrocities of World War 2. But for Efraim, time is running out. Many war crimes suspects are elderly and infirm and so are the witnesses. Memories are fading but Efraim says he will not give up until the last Nazi war criminal is prosecuted. Operation Last Chance is a joint project of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre and the Targum Shlishi Foundation of Miami designed to assist governments around the world in bringing Nazi war criminals to justice. It is also the title of Efraim's book which delivers the important and moving story of one man's efforts to bring criminals to justice.
